Spaces, Houses, and Cities

2013

The “Spaces, Houses, and Cities” learning material is aimed at primary school students in grades 1-6. Its goal is to inspire primary school teachers to incorporate architecture into their lessons and provide joy of learning for children.

The content of the educational material is divided into three main areas: basic concepts of architecture, housing, and the city. The material includes introduction and task sheets, as well as supplementary aid sheets that guide project work, hands-on learning, and thinking with one’s hands. There are a total of 34 introduction and task sheets and 25 aid sheets in the educational material.

The design tasks integrate art, technology, and natural sciences, providing an opportunity to combine different subjects through architectural work. Through these tasks, students expand their knowledge of the built environment and the processes affecting it.
