Architecture studies at Arkki consist of early childhood architecture education for 4–6-year-olds, basic architecture education for 7–15-year-olds, and advanced studies up to the age of 19. The structure of the study path is organized in such a way that the long-term development and expansion of key skills in the art field is flexibly possible for every pupil starting their studies.

At Arkki, education is offered in the following groups according to age level:

  • VO 4–6 | early childhood architecture education for 4–6-year-olds in a child-parent group
  • PO1 7–9 | basic architecture education for 7–9-year-olds
  • PO2 9–11 | basic architecture education for 9–11-year-olds
  • PO3 11–13 | basic architecture education for 11–13-year-olds
  • PO4 13–15 | basic architecture education for 13–15 year olds
  • SO 15–19 | advanced architecture studies for 15–19-year-olds (requires 800 hours of previous studies).

The extent of the architecture studies with a broad syllabus is 1,300 hours, of which 800 hours are dedicated to basic education and 500 hours to advanced studies. Participation in advanced studies requires previous studies. The scope of early childhood studies at Arkki is 120 hours. 

The studies consist of basic education progressing annually in comprehensive study modules and supplementary thematic studies. Advanced studies also include a final project. Thematic courses can be selected according to one’s interests, allowing the formation of individual study modules with different contents.
