Mini School: Architecture
2020
The Arkki School of Architecture for Children and Youth and City Events Espoo collaborated to create an educational video series suitable for children, youth, and adults. This exploration of architecture consists of three episodes: Human-Scale Spaces, Newspaper Structures, and Green Carton City. The episodes use materials commonly found at home. The activities are guided by Arkki’s experienced teachers.

In the first episode, we learn the scale. You need white paper, a pencil, an eraser, a ruler, scissors and colored pencils or watercolors.
Episode 2 | Newspaper structures
In the second episode, we outline volume and practice making structures. You need newspaper, glue stick, barbecue stick, scissors and tape.
Episode 3 | Green milk can city
In the third episode, houses are built, the city and the landscape is sketched. You need milk or juice cans, paper or paint, a ruler, a pen, scissors, paper glue, tape and a carpet knife if you have one.
