Arkki School of Architecture for Children and Youth – Lasten ja nuorten arkkitehtuurikoulu Arkki (Business ID: 1041355-4) is a nonprofit organization aimed at supporting and developing educational and nurturing work related to architecture, the built environment, and the ecological principles of construction for children and youth. The organization is based in Helsinki and was registered in the Finnish association register in 1994.

Activities of the Association

To achieve its purpose, the association maintains the Arkki School of Architecture for Children and Youth, which offers comprehensive basic education in architecture. The association also engages in various other activities to promote architecture and environmental education for children and youth. Decisions about the association’s affairs are made in the spring and autumn meetings, and, if necessary, in an additional meeting.

Board of the Association

The affairs of the association are managed by a board elected at the autumn meeting, consisting of 3-8 members and 2 alternate members. The board members’ term is two years. The board for 2024–2025 includes: Chair Minna-Mari Paija, Vice Chair Sini Koivisto, and member Pihla Meskanen. The alternate members are Tuuli Tiitola-Meskanen and Virpi Mamia.

Join the Association!

The board of the association can accept as members Finnish citizens who are 18 years old or older upon written application. Members are required to pay the annual membership fee determined by the autumn meeting. For the 2023 autumn meeting, the membership fee is set at 15 euros.
